The Dietologist
Van is the UK's leading Weight Loss Surgery Professional.
With more than 28 years experience as the top NHS Specialist in the West Midlands and serving clients worldwide.
Van is a professional member of the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), British Dietetic Association (BDA) and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which means she works under a strict code of conduct using the most up-to-date evidence-based practice. She regularly educates medical companies on the importance of emotional eating and weight loss.
She is an NLP practitioner (a talking therapy) and the first established Interventional Dietitian, which means she can adjust gastric bands under x-ray and review the images. She runs her own gastric band adjustment clinic at Spire Parkway, Solihull.
She was involved in one of the largest weight loss surgery studies, "By-Band-Sleeve" at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham and very quickly established a reputation, in both the NHS and private sector, as the go-to person, where other specialists refer their "tricky" patients.
Van now only works privately with individuals who are serious about transforming their weight.
Van studied a 4 year Nutrition and Biology degree at the London Metropolitan University in 1988. She trained and worked as a Registered Dietitian at the London Hospitals until she settled in the West Midlands in 2006. She worked at the Queen Elizabeth and Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham where she was trained in Bariatrics by the famous surgeon, Mr Paul Super. He was the first surgeon to introduce gastric bands to the West Midlands. Van continues to support Mr Super's patients as well as working with leading Bariatric Surgeons both nationally and internationally.
